Repo Joe To Sponsor August 18th Riverhead Raceway Program Featuring Full Size School Bus Demolition Derby by Bob FInan Riverhead Raceway's neighbor to the east on Route 58, Repo Joe Used Car Sales, will sponsor all the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series feature events including a Full Size School Bus Demolition Derby that will conclude another fun filled family entertainment card at Barbara & Jim Cromarty's famed facility. Repo Joe is a once a month Used Car Sales spectacular at Riverhead Bay Motors and 2012 marks the third year they've been a marketing partner at the track. Kevin Rommeney of Maspeth, who just so happens to drive a Metropolitan Transit Authority Bus in Brooklyn, scored the win in the first Full Size School Bus demo two months back after he topped Chris Van Cott of Commack. Dennis "The Menace" Scott of Riverhead and Ken Darch also of Riverhead are among others expected to destroy these 13-ton School Buses in spectacular fashion. The Legend Race Cars will take the stock car spotlight on Repo Joe night as they will race in a 30-lap INEX National Qualifier with time trial qualifying. All the regulars at Riverhead are gearing up for what has become the biggest race in history for the class. Kyle Ellwood, Kyle Soper, Chris Young, Brendon Bock, Vinny Delaney, Kevin Nowak, Chris Rogers, Jeffery Goodale, Paul Dodorico and Richie Davidowitz are ranked among the top ten as of press time in the championship standings and with National INEX points on the line could be joined by several invading drivers. The NASCAR Modifieds will run a 35-lap feature event while the Figure Eights will make their first start on Repo Joe night since July 21st with Ken Hyde Jr. and Mike Mujsce tied atop the championship standings. The Blunderbusts and Super Pro Trucks will complete the stock car racing portion of the card which will start at 6:00 pm and be preceded by time trials for both the Legend Race Cars and NASCAR Modifieds. With the great family entertainment on the card Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty will once again provide a Free Amusement Ride for the children in turn three.
