Riverhead Raceway's Gift
Of Trees To Be Planted At
Town Of Riverhead Animal Shelter Friday, September 28th
Riverhead
Raceway owners Barbara & Jim Cromarty are proud to announce that the
Town of Riverhead has passed a resolution to plant 100 trees that were
gifted to the Town by the Raceway in June. At that time the track hosted
a NASCAR Cleaning Air Planting Program that was attended by Town
Supervisor Sean Walter. During the June 16th NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series program NASCAR donated 10-trees per green flag that was waved at
Riverhead Raceway and the Cromarty's could then donate those trees to a
recipient of their choice, which was the Town of Riverhead.
On Friday September 28th at the Town of Riverhead Animal Shelter some of
the 100 trees will be planted during a 3:00 pm ceremony. The Town of
Riverhead Animal Shelter is located at 528 Young Avenue in Calverton.
Other trees will be planted at various locations in the Town. Riverhead
Raceway was honored to be just one of five NASCAR sanctioned facilities
to be chosen to participate in the NASCAR Clean Air Planting Program.
Barbara & Jim Cromarty are very happy to pass this gift to the Town of
Riverhead and its residents.
Being animal lovers the Cromarty's are delighted to gift these trees
from Riverhead Raceway through NASCAR to the Town of Riverhead Animal
Shelter to provide some needed shade for the animals at the shelter and
be able to give this to the Town to add to its beauty and to be helpful
for the environment. The Cromarty's are expected to attend the tree
planting ceremony.
Riverhead Raceway continues to be active in its community as are the
NASCAR teams that race at the Route 58 quarter mile oval. For further
