Riverhead Raceway Champion's Luncheon Returning To
Senix Creek Inn Sunday, January 27th

The Riverhead Raceway Champion's Luncheon will return to the scenic Senix Creek Inn of Center Moriches on Sunday January 27th, 2013 as the champions from the 2012 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series will be honored by promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty. The annual Riverhead Raceway "Parade of Champions" will be led by first time NASCAR Modified champion Shawn Solomito of Islip, who also won the Whelen All-American Series New York State championship.

Bob Finan of Riverhead Raceway in conjunction with Charlie and Judy of Senix Creek Inn put the event together for the final Sunday in January, a date that seems to work for all involved. "It's a perfect week with the NFL between their divisional championship games and the Super Bowl which helps make the Senix Creek Inn available for the luncheon" Finan noted. "Last year Charlie and Judy with their friendly staff went out of their way to making us right at home which is why we are going back this year too".

Shawn Solomito will not be the only driver enjoying a first career championship at the Champion's Luncheon as joining him as first time champions are Mike Mujsce of Westhampton Beach who won the Figure Eight title and Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead the 2012 Charger Champion. The list of first time champions doesn't end there as Kyle Ellwood of Riverhead won his first career Legend Race Car championship, as did Andrew Fowler of Wantagh as he captured the Demolition Derby crown.

Three drivers will make their second appearance in the annual "Parade of Champions" on January 27th as Mike Bologna of Melville scored his second straight Late Model championship in 2012, while Tom Pickerell of Huntington won his second career Blunderbust championship, his first came in 2004. Roger Turbush of Riverhead won the Super Pro Truck title for the second time in three years.

The top five drivers from each class will take home a trophy for their 2012 efforts (except Demolition Derby) and the 2012 Rookie of the Year Drivers will be named for the NASCAR Modifieds, Late Models, Figure Eights and Chargers. Seven Best Appearing Car Awards will be presented from the NASCAR Modifieds through the Legend Race Cars.

The Riverhead Raceway Champion's Luncheon will start at 12:30 pm and again feature a free admission with a complimentary buffet courtesy the Senix Creek Inn. The Senix Creek Inn is located on Senix Avenue in Center Moriches and offers a breathtaking view of Moriches Bay.
