TED CHRISTOPHER TO RUN WAYNE ANDERSON'S EASTPORT FEEDS NASCAR MODIFIED AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY IN 2012 The off season silence of the racing world on Long Island was shattered in early January when it was announced that Ted Christopher of Plainville, Ct. would drive Wayne Anderson's Eastport Feeds NASCAR Modified on a weekly basis at Riverhead Raceway starting with the Twin 30 feature events on opening night May 5th. Anderson confirmed the pairing Tuesday after returning from vacation. The weekly NASCAR Modified field at Riverhead Raceway is known to be among the toughest and most star studded in the Whelen All-American Series and with the announcement of the Christopher/Anderson pairing it gets even stronger. The presentation will be made Sunday afternoon January 29th at the Riverhead Raceway Champion's Luncheon at the Senix Creek Inn of Center Moriches. Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville will lead the 2011 Parade of Champions at the luncheon that will start at 12 noon. The Senix Creek Inn is located on Senix Avenue just off the famed Great South Bay of Long Island and over the past several seasons have sponsored Eddie Brunnhoelzl III in the NASCAR Modified ranks at Riverhead Raceway. RIVERHEAD RACEWAY LEGEND RACE CARS TO REMAIN UNDER INEX BANNER FOR 2012 When the Legend Race Cars line-up for their first Riverhead Raceway event of the 2012 season on Saturday evening May 5th they will indeed remain under the INEX sanction for that and all 14 races set for the new season. The Legends will be one of eight feature events presented on opening night by Barbara & Jim Cromarty May 5th, with the NASCAR Modifieds racing in their first of three Twin 30 events and are joined by the Late Models, Figure Eights, Chargers, Blunderbusts, and Super Pro Trucks. In October it was announced that the Legend division at Riverhead Raceway would fall under the NASCAR Sanction, but upon further review by the NASCAR Legal Department the class will remain under the INEX sanction, rules and specs.....Full Story .. .. 2012 CAR NUMBER REGISTRATION UNDERWAY AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY Now that the ball has dropped in Times Square and all the festive holiday season gatherings have been completed the staff of Riverhead Raceway reminds all competitors that plan on racing in the track's 63rd season that they will need to register their car number for 2012. The track will return to its popular opening weekend format to welcome in 2012 with the NASCAR stock cars in action Saturday evening May 5th, while the Enduro stars will shine Sunday afternoon May 6th.
