winning some six times in 2012 NASCAR Modified veteran Tom Rogers Jr. of
Patchogue must have thought taking his first win of 2013 at Riverhead
Raceway took an eternity as he won his first of the season in the Whelen
Event night 35 Saturday night. For Rogers it was his 21st career triumph
at the demanding quarter mile oval. Rogers set the standard in pre-race
qualifying with a lap of 11.831 but ion the redraw among the top eight
from time drew 6th while Vinny Biondolillo was timed second quickest
drew the pole with Timmy Solomito on the outside of the front row. When

NASCAR driving talent Ryan Preece of Berlin, Ct. is hoping to ride a
recent wave of positive energy directly to victory lane Saturday night
June 29th at Riverhead Raceway when the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
stops at Barbara & Jim Cromarty's historic oval for the Hoosier Tire
200. Preece's budding career over the past two seasons especially has
been on the upswing and the 22-year old talent driver hopes to ride that
momentum directly to the 2013 WMT title. In preparing for the Hoosier
Tire 200 Ryan Preece nailed down the Evans NASCAR Hall of Fame 100
Whelen All-American Series NASCAR Modified victory June 8th at

Story. .. RIVERHEAD RACEWAY TO HOST RAPID RECOVERY TOWING NIGHT AND GO-KART EXHIBITION SATURDAY NIGHT JUNE 22ND .. It
will be a virtual smorgasbord of racing Saturday night June 22nd at
Barbara & Jim Cromarty's Riverhead Raceway as they will host Rapid
Recovery Towing night for the NASCAR Modifieds who'll run in a 35-lap
feature event, Twin 15's for the Late Models as well the annual East End
Kart Racing Go-Kart exhibition. Completing the busy and diverse night of
racing are the Figure Eights, Blunderbusts, Legend Race Cars and a
4/6-Cylinder Truck Enduro all starting at 6:00 pm. Rapid Recovery Towing

Evans NASCAR Hall of Fame 100 is now history with popular Ryan Preece
#20 scoring the win in the Bill & Barbara Park owned, East-West Marine
Chevy. Ryan seems to just love the signature races here at Riverhead
Raceway as four of his five career wins here have come in some very
important events. Aside from his 2 career NASCAR WMT victories, most
recent of which was last September he also won last year's Baldwin,
Evans & Jarzombek 77 in July. Bet Preece is already licking his lips for

Ryan Preece of Berlin, Ct. won another signature event at Riverhead
Raceway as he topped the Evans NASCAR Hall of Fame 100 Saturday night
for his 5th career win at the quarter mile oval. Among Ryan's wins in
the past are two NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour wins including last year's
race as well the 2012 Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 Memorial last July
in Bill & Barbara Park's NASCAR Modified. Shawn Solomito set fast time
with a lap of 11.855 taking home $100 from Brigandi Brothers Automotive
but that would be as good as the evening got for the defending champion
as a broken rocker arm found him dropping.....Full
Story.. .... RIVERHEAD RACEWAY READIES FOR JUNE 29TH HOOSIER TIRE 200 NASCAR WMT EVENT .. For
the first time since 2005 Riverhead Raceway will feature two NASCAR
Whelen Modified Tour races in a single season as Barbara & Jim Cromarty
will host the Hoosier Tire 200 Saturday June 29th for the cars and stars
of the popular touring series. Joining the Hoosier Tire 200 will be a
30-lap Blunderbust and a 30-lap Legend Race Car feature, with the Legend
race winner to pocket $1,000 to win. The last time the NASCAR WMT
competed in the month of June on Long Island was back in June, 4th 2005
with "TC" Ted Christopher of Plainville, Ct. taking home the
victory. The format for the Hoosier Tire 200 will find all cars
qualifying for the 28-car field.....Full

Jim Schaefer, long known as the "Mod Maniac" not only has worked his lap
money sponsorship for the WMT teams for June 29th but also is
responsible for the Legends big payday. Prompted by a Facebook post
during the off-season by one of his former students, four time Riverhead
Charger champ Chris Turbush, Schaefer went to work on lining-up lap
money and bonus sponsors and when all was said and done $1,000 will be

felt as though it finally arrived on Long Island Saturday night at
Riverhead Raceway and to go along with it was some pretty good and at
times intense racing which we will recap for you in a bit. First however
we have a few "programming" motes for everyone. Barbara & Jim Cromarty
announced Monday morning that starting with this Saturday evening June
8th feature event racing will start at 6:00 pm, of course this week the
card is highlighted by the annual Evans NASCAR Hall of Fame 100 which
should be a barn-burner. The Legend Race Cars who will qualify via time
trials this Saturday will find an extra 10-laps in their feature this
week as they will now go 30 circuits.....Full
