SEVEN FEATURE EVENTS ON TAP FOR ACTION PACKED
SEPTEMBER 12TH AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY

They saying states "go big or go home" and on September 12th Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty will go big with seven feature events being presented. Five NASCAR Whelen All-American Series divisions will be joined by a Grand and 4/6-Cylinder Car Enduro with the show slated to start at 6:00 pm. This Saturday night September 5th will be one for the ages when the Miller Lite National Demolition Derby Championship takes to the track after the NASCAR stock portion of the program. The richest purse for a Demo in the 65-year history of the track will find Barbara & Jim Cromarty posting $2,500 to win and indeed that has caught the attention of some legendary names in the Demo game. Among those already with entry blanks filed are Bob "The Killer Bee" Benison, a former World and National Champion, along with his brother-in-law "The Madhatter".....Full Story

JUSTIN BONSIGNORE SCORES RIVERHEAD RACEWAY CLEAN SWEEP
WITH RIVERHEAD 200 NWMT VICTORY

Justin Bonsignore of Holtsville entered an elite group of only five drivers to score a clean sweep of a seasons NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour events run at Riverhead Raceway over a 31-year period when he triumphed Saturday night in the Riverhead 200. His win Saturday was every bit as popular as his victory in the Hoosier Tire 200 back in June. Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead scored a clean sweep of his own as he won the Coors Light Pole Award with a lap of 11.971 and was the only driver of 31 to run a sub 12 second lap. BUZZ CHEW CHEVY-CADILLAC NIGHT VICTORIES AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY

Under near perfect weather conditions Saturday evening at Riverhead Raceway three preliminary races were contested prior to the Riverhead 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event on Buzz Chew Chevrolet-Cadillac night. !5-year old Owen Grennan of Glen Cove scored his first career win in the 20-lap Charger main event, while Tom Pickerell of Huntington took home his third Blunderbust win with Dylan Slepian of Dix Hills notching his sixth Legend Race Car feature event win. EYE ON RIVERHEAD: AUGUST 26, 2015

The Riverhead 200 coming up Saturday is shaping up to be another classic NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at our historic quarter mile track. Ryan Preece #6 and Woody Pitkat #88 come to the race separated by two points with four races remaining. Many view Saturday's race as the "wildcard' race of the four left. Both Preece and Pitkat are strong at New Hampshire, Stafford and Thompson the final three stops on the 2015 Whelen Modified Tour. Of course defending champion Doug Coby #2 is not out of the mix but he fell back with a hard crash.....Full Story

JOHN FORTIN DRIVES TO 29TH CAREER RIVERHEAD NASCAR MODIFIED
WIN IN FRONT OF SRO CROWD SATURDAY NIGHT

A standing room only crowd turned out for I Love America night at Riverhead Raceway Saturday and the large throng watched as John Fortin Sr. of Holtsville took home his 29th career NASCAR Modified victory on Miller Lite/Donaldson's Volkswagen-Subaru night. The triumph was the 2nd of 2015 for Fortin, a former three time track champion. Rookie NASCAR Modified pilot Kyle Soper lead the way in qualifying turning in a lap of 11.876 and in the redraw Kyle would pull third starting spot while John Fortin Sr. and Vinny Biondolillo picked the front row.....Full Story

Saturday evening at Riverhead Raceway was arguably the most historic in the 65-year history of our beloved race track and it seemed fitting that an announcement of historic proportion would take place on Old Timers Night. Sometimes life just works out that way. A very emotional Barbara & Jim Cromarty made it official, they have sold Riverhead Raceway to Eddie & Connie Partridge and their nephew/partner Tom Gatz. When the 2015 Wall of Fame induction of the late Carl Zeh, Robin Vollmoeller and Mike Ewanitsko was completed Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty chocking back tears made the official announcement they have sold the 65-year old facility to Eddie & Connie Partridge of Calverton. The Partridge's along with their nephew and partner in the purchase Tom Gatz of Center Moriches joined the Cromarty's at the start finish line for the Old Timers Day announcement.
