.. 2012 Car Number Registration Underway At Riverhead Raceway by Bob FInan Now that the ball has dropped in Times Square and all the festive holiday season gatherings have been completed the staff of Riverhead Raceway reminds all competitors that plan on racing in the track's 63rd season that they will need to register their car number for 2012. The track will return to its popular opening weekend format to welcome in 2012 with the NASCAR stock cars in action Saturday evening May 5th, while the Enduro stars will shine Sunday afternoon May 6th. Robin Merry, daughter of promoters Barbara & Jim Cromarty is in the track business office Monday through Friday from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and to register your car number for 2012 please dial 631-842-RACE during those hours. Merry reminds everyone, "no matter how long you've been racing, teams must call and renew and register a new car number for the upcoming season" While registering your car number it is also wise to update your address and other pertinent information. If you choose to go the electronic route Riverhead Raceway's Margie Kempski is receiving e-mail for car numbers and other info at info@riverheadraceway.com. The opening weekend at Riverhead Raceway will be proceeded by two pre-season practice days Saturday April 21st and again April 28th and once again grandstand admission will be FREE for both those days.
