As the old adage goes, theres nothing like the original and that saying indeed rings true when it comes to the 13th annual Long Island Daytona 500 Party set for Sunday February 17th at JCS Restaurant in Manorville. Highlighting the afternoon of fun and merriment will be of course the free admission and the raffling off of a gorgeous 52 TV.
On a whim some 13-years ago Bob Finan and Steve Halpin who were broadcast partners at Barbara and Jim Cromartys Riverhead Raceway said if fans of NFL Football can have a big bash for their game, well so can we for the Super Bowl of auto racing the Daytona 500. From its modest start the gathering has grown into a mega event that hosted nearly 350 race fans in 2007.
JCS will offer $3 pints of both domestic and imported beer supply a never ending buffet during the race and with Coors Light hosting the event the lovely Coors Light ladies will be on hand with plenty of giveaways. Steve Halpin and his twin brother Tim will again run their famous Daytona 500 pools and for those who choose to smoke, JCS will have an enclosed heated deck where party goers will actually watch the race on the 52 TV that will be raffled off after the race. Inside JCS features 12 HD Plasma TVS to view the Daytona 500 on.
Veteran LM talent Mighty Mike Mortimer, who has never missed the LI Daytona 500 Party, indicated hell again be on hand along with the likes of Howie Brode, Chris Turbush, Chris McGuire, Tom Anderson, Slim Jim Donaldson and a cast of hundreds.
JCS is located in the Pine Hills Country Club on Wading River Road in Manorville and is a state-of-the-art pub and restaurant, which is north off the Long Island Expressway exit 69. If traveling from Sunrise Highway then access exit 59 south and the Pine Hills Country Club will be on your left.
For a sneak peek at JCS Tim Halpin and his band Groundswell will be playing there on Friday February 8th at 9:00 pm.
So if you want to be part of an original, then head to the Long Island Daytona 500 Party Sunday February 17th!
