EAGLE CHEVROLET CRATE MODIFIED 100, SCHOOL BUS FIGURE EIGHTS TAKE CENTER STAGE SATURDAY AT RIVERHEAD RACEWAY

In celebration of the long-awaited arrival of the summer solstice, Riverhead Raceway management has arranged for a busy night of NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series racing Saturday with the Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modified in the spotlight running their annual 100-lap event. Ten feature events in all are on the racing menu with well over 250-laps of feature event racing to unfold with a School Bus Figure Eight race closing out the program.
Veteran Eagle Chevrolet Crate Modified talent Vinny Delaney of Islip Terrace has been the model of consistency to date in 2025 coming to the 100-lap test as the championship leader. Delaney, who hopes for his first win of the campaign Saturday has a slim two-point lead over Eric Hersey of Commack, the most recent winner when the class last raced. Michael Berner of Patchogue sits third in the championship chase, six back of Delaney and he too hopes to visit victory lane for the first time in '25. AJ DeSantis of Yaphank and impressive rookie Joe Warren Jr. are fourth and fifth in points entering Saturday, both hope to hold the checker flag post-race.
Both Owen Grennan of Glen Cove and Richie Davidowitz of East Moriches have wins under their belt this year and are hopeful of nabbing their second 2025 triumph. Chase Grennan of Glen Cove, Terry Stiles of Rocky Point, Rich Gerbe of Northport, Andrew Farnham of Baldwin and Tom Sekulski of Nesconset are also expected to make a run at the 100-lap victory.
Max Handley of Medford won the 2024 edition of the race, a 112-lap affair in tribute to the late Dennis Krupski. Unfortunately, a leg injury from an early season Street Stock practice crash will render "Mad" Max unable to defend his race win.
Time trials will determine the starting grid for the 100-lap tilt, drivers will be aiming for the track record set by Dave Brigati of Calverton, 12.211 set on May 18th, 2019.
Rounding out the NASCAR action are the Late Models who'll go 25-laps plus the Blunderbusts who are set for 20-laps of competition. Plenty of INEX sanctioned racing will unfold Saturday with the return of the INEX Legend Race Cars for 20-laps of thrills. The INEX Bandoleros will showcase the driving starts of tomorrow with 15-lap main events for the Bandits & Outlaws, while the Beginners are set for 10-laps.
Wall-to wall racing excitement continues to explode with the 8-Cylinder Enduro racers, and a School Bus Figure Eight Race that closes out a plentiful night of thrills and spills.
General admission gates open at 4:00 PM, time trials for the Crate Mods kickoff qualifying at 4:45 PM with opening ceremonies at 6:15 PM. General admission is $30 for adults, kids 6-12 are $20, kids 5 & under free.
