CHASE GRENNAN CELEBRATES HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION WITH RIVERHEAD RACEWAY FLYING DUTCHMAN 75 NASCAR MODIFIED VICTORY

The last weekend of June 2025 will forever standout as a special one for Chase Grennan of Glen Cove as just hours after graduation high school, Chase went on to score a clean sweep of the "Flying Dutchman" 75 NASCAR Modified event Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway. The 2024 Islip 300 winner set fast time in qualifying and promptly led all 75-laps of the race celebrating the late Fred Harbach and 75th Anniversary of Riverhead Raceway.
After tripping the clock with a fast time of 11.811, Chase Grennan was joined on the front row by Kyle Ellwood of Riverhead who turned in a qualifying time of 11.849. When the green waved for the event Grennan wasted little time breaking out front of Ellwood for the race lead. The duo was joined by two-time defending champion John Beatty Jr. who raced his way to third early on. The trio ran single file logging laps until a lap 44 caution for a JR Bertuccio spin slowed the race. The complexion of the race changed during the double file restart as Beatty was able to race to second with an inside pass of Ellwood when the contest resumed.
Beatty was able to draw to within a car length or two of the youthful race leader while the laps clicked off. Meanwhile all eyes turned to Timmy Solomito of Islip who was charging his way towards the front after qualifying a disappointing 14th. With 20-lap remaining Solomito was able to race to the outside of Ellwood to move into third. With 10-laps to go Beatty made another run at race leader Grennan and while he got close, an actual attempt at a pass for the lead never materialized.
When the checker flag waved Chase Grennan in the Black Forest Auto Chevy earned his second career win in a clean sweep of the day, but he admitted to announcer Stephen Halpin afterwards it wasn't as easy as it looked. "We were struggling in practice and tensions got high for a while" Chase revealed, "but we went to work, we've been chasing this car since the Islip 300 win, we finally hit on something. Can't thank my Mom & Dad, Owen and Kendall for all they do". Grennan was presented a handsome trophy by Joanne Harbach-Kitzen and husband Alex post race, but the champagne they provided had to go back on ice with the race winner not of age.
John Beatty Jr. of Merrick was second in the MSM Elite Motorsports Chevy, while Timmy Solomito with the drive of the race completed the podium in his USNE Power entry. Kyle Ellwood was fourth with Chris Young of Calverton coming over the line fifth.
Scott Pedersen of Shirley earned his 19th career TK Figure Eight victory when he topped the 15-lap feature event for his second win of 2025. The win ties him for 9th on the all-time win list with the late Ralph Tasso. Once again keeping Scott honest during the race was his nephew Allan Pedersen of Center Moriches in the Top Notch Performance Camaro, a car that pays tribute to Tasso. Will Farrel of Mastic placed third in the Bobby's One Stop Custome Exhaust & Auto coupe.
Sean Glennon of Northport notched his third 20-lap Super Pro Truck victory of the season Saturday after taking the race lead from Erin Solomito on lap 7. Once out front Glennon never looked back in his Glennon Construction machine earning his 13th career win tying him with Mike Albasini for 9th on the all-time win list. Erin Solomito of East Quogue was runner-up in The Hydrant Hotel RAM as she continues to knock on victory lane's door. Jack Handley Jr. of Medford was third at the finish with his Hydro Action Toyota.
All-time Street Stock winner Dave Antos of Lindenhurst padded his win total when he won the 20-lap Street Stock feature event fending off Brian Brown of Calverton. Antos worked his way by early race leader Jake Curran on lap 4 to take control of the race. Brown raced his way to second passing Curran on lap 7 and setting his radar for leader Antos. Over the final two laps Brown was all over Antos hoping to execute a late race pass but Dave in his JTEC Electric Chevy prevailed. Brown settled for second in his Eastport Feeds Chevy, Jake Curran of Calverton was an impressive third in the CheckerWon Racing machine.
Former Mini Stock champion Paul Wojcik of Patchogue won their 20-lap feature event for his second win of the year, the 9th tally of his career. Ryan T Warren chased Wojcik for the first four laps before disaster struck during a 4th lap restart. Ryan along with CJ Zukowski and Tyler Farrell all got collected off the second turn while racing for position. Once the race resumed Wojcik remained out front with his Superior Business Solution Prelude for the duration of the race. Chris Olivari of Coram was second in the Middle Country Automotive entry, while Marissa Stewart of Riverhead came home third in her Stewart's Fence & Gates Cavalier.
Tony Ferrante Jr. of New Hyde Park topped the 15-lap Eddie Partridge Vintage All Star contest, dedicating the win to his late car owner Bill Murray who passed away just before the new season started. Don Howe of Water Mill was second while Don Conradis of Patchogue came home third.
